Need clothes for a job interview?

Here are some organizations that may be able to help

Dress for success ( women - international)

Career Gear  ( men - several locations throughout the US)

Bottomless Closet  ( women - chicago)

These organizations also offer additional assistance with job retention and career advancement. However, you will need a referral from a caseworker to receive services.

Also check with the sites and their affiliates for job openings as well.

Dress for Success-Women do you need clothes for interviewing

The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Dress for Success serves clients by referral only, and women must have an interview scheduled before receiving clothing. Our clients come to us from a continually expanding and diverse group of non-profit and government agencies including homeless shelters, immigration services, job training programs, educational institutions and domestic violence shelters, among many other organizations. More than 3,000 organizations throughout the world send women to Dress for Success for professional apparel and career development services.

On her initial visit a woman receives a suit appropriate for the industry in which she is interviewing and, if available, accessories. After a woman finds a job she returns to Dress for Success for additional clothing that can be mixed and matched to make several outfits, providing her with the foundation for a professional wardrobe.

The above was taken directly from their website  http://www.dressforsuccess.org/whatwedo.aspx  It says women BUT I have heard that the location here in California also help men so I would contact the local office and see if they can help you if you are a man in need. Women, dont let lack of a nice outfit stop you from looking for work, this organization is great and can help you on your road to success.

CAN SOMEONE HELP?

WHY! I can't get a job no where. I can't get houseing assistance. I can't get public assistance. My hubby and i have ben struggling since he was laid off. We have 4 kids. We've been staying with his parent for, (for ever it seem like). Then moved in with my bestfriend, haha... , that was a joke, 6 kids and 4 adults. (Thats a another thought). So when it was time to move from my friends and having no wheres to go and school was about to start, my sister and her hubby said we take the older kids in while your looking for work, i'm very thankful for them of doing this. Any how my hubby's parent took our younger ones, as we bounce around hotel to hotel, starving. hubby's parens couldnt handle little so we're now back at thier house. My older kids r about 50 miles away from us, i hav'nt seen them since before school.

I've been looking for work every week, nothing. We can't rent a 3 bedroom house or apartment with what we get from unemployment benifits. Unable to get housing becaus my hubby has a crime record.

So I've downloaded these grant gate program, not sure if it's going to help. I'm a very bad reader n writer.

I'M LOST ON WHAT TO DO??????????CAN SOMEONE HELP

About Carebear09

Hi. I am trying to move to the Philadelphia next month to be near my bf and his children. We have enough for a partial deposit on a place , but are having great difficulty finding a job and really cheap housing ( rental) The budget my family and I would be able to afford is between $300.00 to $500.00 per month. It needs to include all utilities, minus cable as that is a luxury item and we don't expect anyone to pay for that for us. I have tried looking up so many places online as I don't live up that way and cannot scope out the place for "For Rent" signs.  My bf is in college and is working part time. He is kinda limited as to how much time  he can do search wise and has pretty much exhausted his search means too. We aren't picky people. I mean yeah the neighborhood has to be decent. But, we aren't saying that it has to be spectacular. I would be willing to rent a moblie home, apt, house , townhome , or efficency at this point. (as long as it includes all the utilities)We would prefer at least a 3 bedroom place, but understand that that is probably a dream at this point because of the prices. We were thinking of doing a month to month place for now and then when I start working and we can afford to move to a place big enough for all of us. ( him, his 2 children and my daughter).

Please help if you know of anyone in that area that is willing to help a needy family such as us out, finding work and housing etc.

Thanks for listening. God bless you and your families. Hope that you hear answers to your prayers as well.
